So what's on your playlist? For me Im rockin Taking Back Sunday "Where You Want To Be", its simply fresh, just like the first time hundred times, except now "New American Classic" seems to be my theme song, fckrs. If your looking to shed some of baggage on the pavement Set Phasers To Stun, clockers.
Set Phaser To Stun
Bonus Mosh pt.II
A Decade Under the Influence
I Am Fred Astaire
One Eighty By Summer

and then walk it out with New American Classic- Right.

Im totally digging Christina Aguleria's performance, totally magnetic she is the uber professional. Pink wow, I came up with these girls, Im so happy they are back on stage. Great, brilliant, Russell Brand resembles Dartagnan, uh ya know Dart from PTC. Yikes, good thing we have a sense of humor around here. Best Wishes to Pete & Ashley whom I owe alot to jumpstarting PTC V1. Does everyone agree that Tokio Hotel totally rule and we must meet boys. So aside from TBS and still digging The Airborne Toxic Event (tremendously) who's been renting space on your ipod? Hey guys if you have any photos from any Punk the Clock shows send em my way, Id be happy to post them here (catjia@punktheclock.com) for ya, I have always wanted to see through your lens.

Second, Third & Fourth Chances-

With Love and hope to second chances. I feel so child like thinking about how long it’s going to take to move on, when do I start to feel again, besides feeling sorry for myself? And so what does it take? New routines, renting 14 movies and watching the full season of Family Guy. Actually reading that book my therapist handed me or finally finishing P the Cs own? Going back to a high school BBQ or rearranging the apartment to fit a new lifestyle filled with brilliant lithographs from the masters & new furniture or putting the spin on the next move for Punk The Clock. Ending the Summer 08 on a very personal, heartbroken note, really Looking forward to taking this time for myself, reinventing myself. And maybe this is the universe's way of driving us to become who we were meant to become and then bringing us back to the ones we lost somewhere along the way...

Ps. is everyone in Gym Class Heroes dating A Katie? I happen to be a huge fan of Katy Perry, Catherine Wheel & I Hate Kate-it's always better!

Pss. Reconnectting with some pretty amazing people like Melissa Johnson. Melissa has been pretty busy since leaving AbsolutePunk.net, with the launch of Halos or Horns (www.halosorhorns.com), so why don’t you head over and check it out for yourself on this fine Saturday night.

Psss. If your heading out to one of many parties tonight, dont forget to use protection. Make sure those guys wrap it up, girls. Did you know that US has the hightest rate on teen age pregnancy, higher than Africa. I dont want to preach but girls do you really want to be defined by a number other than 1?

Catjia's summer soundtrack 08

What's up Clockers? before i get into the where I have been I just wanted to spread the news about a few rounds "on the clock". I have to say that the Coldplay "Viva La Viva" has been getting me through some pretty heartfelt times lately. To top my little soundtrack is the Airborne Toxi Event- I basically want to be the herione in the lyrics. A few songs even if just one line or two have really had impact (even though not so new)- So i want to know what' would the soundtrack to your Summer 08 be, be honest with yourself when is the last time you actually listened to lyrics of a song without being distracted? Here's mine:

the Airborne Toxic Event- Sometime Around Midnight (she is going to crush you in 2)
Carolina Liar-I'm not over
MGMT-Time to pretend
Coldplay-Lost
Jack's Mannequin-the Resolution (living in the moment frozen in time)
Modest Mouse- We Have Got Everything
Tickle Me Pink-Typical
I have to pause and give this group HUGE props,
tHE AIRBORNE TOXIC EVENT-SOMETIME AROUND MIDNIGHT this isnt the last time you will hear me mention this group, I like the way "tate" get's into my head and under my skin.

Low vs. Diamond
-Heart Attack
the Bravery-time just won't let me go (im so homesick for someone I never knew, for some place I'll never be)
the Bravery-Better Late than Never

the Duke Spririt-"the Step and the Walk"

and just in case....
Hope everyone has been weathering the weight of the world on your shoulder's? I know exactly what that's like...I have been carrying a shitload of baggage since PTC V3 "Property" hit shelves, dualing careers, family & more family matters, boyfriend.
Almost immediately 3 weeks to the day layoffs began at MS, due to the subprime markets & mortgage crisis literally razoring the trading floor. Pretty much paralyzed, definately curbing my ambitions, taking the phone off the hook and disappear for a while was the only thing that could possibly get me through from one day to the next. Resentful, burned out, stripped of all sensibility I had all but given up. With the pressures of 4Q layoffs Series 7 & 63 ahead im pretty much on track to be committed any day now. Family, my brother died right on the heels of the Festivus For the Rest Of Us Tour remember in December 2007 and well lets just say that the rest up until this point is really to personal to post at least for now. I feel like a turtle peeking its head out of its shell to make sure its ok to come out and start punching the clock again. So what music got me through all of it, well its always best to start at beginning, your very first inspiration do you remember that first spark? I do. But, ah I think i'll save that for another day. So while I am at the beginning of a new chapter, a new channel and rewiring the clock in the next few months these tracks or artist have begun to resonate with me. It is usually just a line or two, but enough to motivate me to come back & start to join where I left off.....
XO everyone!

Just a thought....

A note from Rock the Vote

We vote to affect change at home, but we also vote to affect change abroad. And beyond Election Day in November, it’s important that we raise our voices.

http://takeaction.amnestyusa.org/site/lookup.asp?c=jhKPIXPCIoE&b=4325261

We are all aware of the U.S’s troubling dependence on oil. We’re not alone.

As many of you already know, in Sudan, oil is literally a matter of life and death.

Ninety percent of Sudan's export income comes from the oil industry. Most of that money funds military spending that has fueled five long years of suffering in Darfur. You can help stop the Darfur crisis.

http://takeaction.amnestyusa.org/site/lookup.asp?c=jhKPIXPCIoE&b=4325261

Young people are calling on large American corporations to think twice about the impacts of their investments, and some key investors with ties to Sudan have already begun to listen. Thanks to Amnesty International activists, Morgan Stanley, Merrill Lynch, and a few other firms are waking up to the calls for corporate social responsibility in Sudan.. But some big businesses still need convincing. Tell top U.S. investment firms that socially responsible investment in Sudan is important to you.

The most powerful investors in the world can choose to tolerate widespread murder, torture, rape and forced displacement, or they help end the human rights catastrophe in Darfur.

Join Rock the Vote and Amnesty International in supporting a socially responsible solution to help end the crisis in Darfur.

http://takeaction.amnestyusa.org/site/lookup.asp?c=jhKPIXPCIoE&b=4325261

Sincerely,

Heather Smith

RicCioli Rundown

What’s good Clockers? The oh so not famous (yet) RiCCioLi Rundown is back is effect. A lot of awesome stuff is going on around here lately so get ready to catch up folks!

What did you guys do this past Tuesday? It was a huge day for our dear friends; The Matches. Let’s see what they did...

Thats right people, The Matches 3rd studio album has hit shelves everywhere! It’s titled "A Band In Hope" and I personally think it’s their best album to date. Songs like AM Tilts, Wake The Sun, Point Me Toward The Morning, Yankee In A Chip Shop, and If I Were You all make me want to jump out of my seat and dance every time. Then there is also Darkness Rising. It reminds me of The Matches do Nightmare Before Christmas with crazy instrumentals. And who could forget the once PTC Exclusive, Their City? That song will never get old. So if you havent yet, run out to the store and pick up "A Band In Hope."

Inamere Is Caught Up In Disaster!!
Fresh out of the studio, Inamere is back and packing a bunch for 2008. They just got back from Georgia with some fresh new tracks for their upcoming album! Their first song has been posted here. Don’t forget, you can listen to Inamere’s PTC Exclusive track "Hit The Floor" on our myspace player too.

Even The Starting Line Needs A Break.
Last week The Starting Line announced that they were going to be taking a long over due break after their tour is over this spring. Don’t worry though, this isnt a break up or hiatus. The band has already said they arent breaking up and will still make music in the future. Interested in why this is going down; read here.
I can’t blame the guys for wanting to take a break, they have been doing it for what seems a lifetime. Dont miss The Starting Line on tour right now with my good friends in Bayside and Four Year Strong.

Speaking Of Four Year Strong...
Last month they signed to the Decaydance family! Huge congratz to them! These guys are going to explode this year and everyone of us at Punk The Clock saw this coming over a year ago. Why else would we put them on PTC 3? They freakin rule!

Do You Own Punk The Clock Vol. 3: Property Of A Gentleman??
If so, please voice your opinion of it. We want all the feedback on it possible to make our next installment even better. Wow, thats gunna be hard. Stop by here.

Thanks for reading everyone! Don’t forget to pick up PTC 3 at any best buy, fye, or hot topic. Feeling lazier than the furniture? Then just jump onto iTunes and purchase it there for only $9.99

Big News for Punk the Clock

Well Hello Clockers,

Riccioli is currently on tour with Tokyo Rose/Straylight Run/Bayside/Four Year Strong tour. Speaking of which I was able to catch up with him at the School of Rock/NJ on Tuesday....and I have one comment. Four Year Strong lives up to the hype, these guys kill it live...

So i am aslo happy to announce to date PTC has donated over 2000 USD to the Dear Jack Foundaton, thank you everyone for purchasing V3 "Property of a Gentleman" is now available on Itunes and for those of you who still believe that buying a copy of your favorite album you can pick us up at your local Best Buy, Hot Topic & FYE store.

This year looks bright for The Matches! They will be on the Starry Nights and Salty Seas Tour, heading overseas for the Soundwave Festival and back in the states for the 2008 Alternative Press Tour. Plus there new album, one of AP magazines most anticipated Cd's, should be hitting shelves in March!

There new CD "Champion" will be out on January 22, pre order it now and you can get an autographed CD booklet. The Pac Sun Tour has just begun and they are the headliners. Then they're heading to the UK till March. This is just the beginning of a great year for the guys in The Audition!

FESTIVUS FOR THE REST OF US

Punk the Clock is wrapping up 2007 with I Surrender Records & SIRE Records.

Punk the Clock, along with I Surrender and Armor For Sleep, is proud to present the heart-warming, celebratory, non-denominational holiday event of the year: The FESTIVUS FOR THE REST OF US tour, featuring Valencia, Four Year Strong, The High Court (on select dates), and special guests Armor for Sleep.
Following the success of 2005’s What to Do When You Are Dead, New Jersey’s Armor for Sleep (12/27-12/29) recently released Smile for Them on Sire Records. The album’s first single "Williamsburg" was premiered on Total Request Live, and the intense, power-rock melodies of Smile are already turning heads across the MTV stations. Armor for Sleep just wrapped up the Sleeping With Giants tour with The Academy Is… and The Rocket Summer.

Fresh off the road from a full US tour with Boys Like Girls and All Time Low, Philadelphia natives Valencia will be premiering songs off their new album, the highly anticipated follow-up to their
debut, This Could Be A Possibility. The band have gained over 75,000 friends and nearly 4 million plays on MySpace with their infectious, multi-layered rock sound. Valencia will also be hitting the road in February for a stint across the UK with theAudition.

Four Year Strong create a unique blend of power-pop and hardcore, with influences ranging from Gorilla Biscuits to Saves the Day. Hailing from Worcester, Massachusetts, the band has already made themselves known on the Smartpunk Top 100 Sales and Purevolume "Most Played" charts with their debut full-length, Rise or Die Trying. Four Year Strong have recently made waves across the ocean with a spread in UK’s Tuned magazine, featured as "Album of the Month".

The High Court have been touring non-stop in support of their debut album, Puppet Strings, which was praised by Absolutepunk.net as "music [that is] miles above any of the band’s contemporaries, [with] lyrical approaches which are blunt, crass, sexy and just really interesting." The New Jersey quartet boasts a confident
swagger and an undeniable charm that leaves listeners begging for more.

In support of the PTC compilation, Punk The Clock wraps 2007 with a finale of artist featured on V3 Property Of A Gentleman: Valencia, Four Year Strong, The High Court (on select dates). PTC is totally psyched to trim the home front with Armor For Sleep. PTC V3 track listing includes 19 exclusive & unreleased tracks from Jacks Mannequin, The Almost, the Matches, Say Anything, Lostprophets, Anchor & Braille, Nightmare of You, Permanent Me and introduces Inamere, Ellison & Pictures In Pieces.

Festivus For the Rest Of Us is a brilliant topper to a year of touring with Jack's Mannequin West Coast Winter tour, The Audition Spring 2007 tour & the Hot Topic Punk The Clock Life & Lies tour cosponsored with Hurley, AbsolutePunk.net, Purevolume & RecCenter.

Deck the halls and catch these bands at the end of December for a
holiday extravaganza that isn’t to be missed.

Dec 27 2007 Philadelphia, PA @ The Trocadero

Dec 28 2007 South Hackensack, NJ @ School Of Rock

Dec 29 2007 Worcester, MA @ The Palladium

Dec 30 2007 Scranton, PA @ Tinks

Best, Catjia

Happy Festivus Everyone!

Casey Calvert 1981-2007 Hawthorne Heights

Our most sincere condolences to the family, fans of Casey Calvert & Hawthorne Heights may you forever find peace. Thank you for your inspiration and song while you were here.
(MTV is reporting the following)
Calvert, 26, was pronounced dead on Saturday after police were called to the band's tour bus outside Washington, D.C.'s 9:30 Club around 2:30 p.m. and found him unconscious. The Washington Post reported that Calvert's death came one day after he and his bandmates — frontman JT Woodruff, guitarist Micah Carli, bassist Matt Ridenour and drummer Eron Bucciarelli — boarded the bus to begin their Wintour 2007 outing, which kicked off Friday night in Detroit. Police are still awaiting results of an autopsy, though some reports speculate that his death might have been caused by a pre-existing condition related to acute asthma.

On the group's Web site, fellow bandmembers announced the death of their "quirky and awesome best friend," who they said had "passed away in his sleep."

"Today is probably the worst day ever," the group wrote. "It's with our deepest regrets that we have to write this. Casey Calvert passed away in his sleep last night. We found out this afternoon before soundcheck. We've spent the entire day trying to come to grips with this and figure out as much as possible. At this time we're not sure what exactly happened. Just last night he was joking around with everyone before he went to bed. We can say with absolute certainty that he was not doing anything illegal. Please, out of respect to Casey and his family, don't contribute or succumb to any gossip you may hear. We don't want his memory to be tainted in the least. Casey was our best friend. He was quirky and awesome and there will truly be no others like him! His loss is unexplainable. As soon as we know more we will let you know. Sincerely, Hawthorne Heights: Eron, JT, Micah and Matt."

Meanwhile, fans have begun filling Hawthorne's MySpace page with messages of support and sadness, celebrating Calvert's life and remembering the music he made with the band.
