FESTIVUS FOR THE REST OF US

Punk the Clock is wrapping up 2007 with I Surrender Records & SIRE Records.

Punk the Clock, along with I Surrender and Armor For Sleep, is proud to present the heart-warming, celebratory, non-denominational holiday event of the year: The FESTIVUS FOR THE REST OF US tour, featuring Valencia, Four Year Strong, The High Court (on select dates), and special guests Armor for Sleep.
Following the success of 2005’s What to Do When You Are Dead, New Jersey’s Armor for Sleep (12/27-12/29) recently released Smile for Them on Sire Records. The album’s first single "Williamsburg" was premiered on Total Request Live, and the intense, power-rock melodies of Smile are already turning heads across the MTV stations. Armor for Sleep just wrapped up the Sleeping With Giants tour with The Academy Is… and The Rocket Summer.

Fresh off the road from a full US tour with Boys Like Girls and All Time Low, Philadelphia natives Valencia will be premiering songs off their new album, the highly anticipated follow-up to their
debut, This Could Be A Possibility. The band have gained over 75,000 friends and nearly 4 million plays on MySpace with their infectious, multi-layered rock sound. Valencia will also be hitting the road in February for a stint across the UK with theAudition.

Four Year Strong create a unique blend of power-pop and hardcore, with influences ranging from Gorilla Biscuits to Saves the Day. Hailing from Worcester, Massachusetts, the band has already made themselves known on the Smartpunk Top 100 Sales and Purevolume "Most Played" charts with their debut full-length, Rise or Die Trying. Four Year Strong have recently made waves across the ocean with a spread in UK’s Tuned magazine, featured as "Album of the Month".

The High Court have been touring non-stop in support of their debut album, Puppet Strings, which was praised by Absolutepunk.net as "music [that is] miles above any of the band’s contemporaries, [with] lyrical approaches which are blunt, crass, sexy and just really interesting." The New Jersey quartet boasts a confident
swagger and an undeniable charm that leaves listeners begging for more.

In support of the PTC compilation, Punk The Clock wraps 2007 with a finale of artist featured on V3 Property Of A Gentleman: Valencia, Four Year Strong, The High Court (on select dates). PTC is totally psyched to trim the home front with Armor For Sleep. PTC V3 track listing includes 19 exclusive & unreleased tracks from Jacks Mannequin, The Almost, the Matches, Say Anything, Lostprophets, Anchor & Braille, Nightmare of You, Permanent Me and introduces Inamere, Ellison & Pictures In Pieces.

Festivus For the Rest Of Us is a brilliant topper to a year of touring with Jack's Mannequin West Coast Winter tour, The Audition Spring 2007 tour & the Hot Topic Punk The Clock Life & Lies tour cosponsored with Hurley, AbsolutePunk.net, Purevolume & RecCenter.

Deck the halls and catch these bands at the end of December for a
holiday extravaganza that isn’t to be missed.

Dec 27 2007 Philadelphia, PA @ The Trocadero

Dec 28 2007 South Hackensack, NJ @ School Of Rock

Dec 29 2007 Worcester, MA @ The Palladium

Dec 30 2007 Scranton, PA @ Tinks

Best, Catjia

Happy Festivus Everyone!

Casey Calvert 1981-2007 Hawthorne Heights

Our most sincere condolences to the family, fans of Casey Calvert & Hawthorne Heights may you forever find peace. Thank you for your inspiration and song while you were here.
(MTV is reporting the following)
Calvert, 26, was pronounced dead on Saturday after police were called to the band's tour bus outside Washington, D.C.'s 9:30 Club around 2:30 p.m. and found him unconscious. The Washington Post reported that Calvert's death came one day after he and his bandmates — frontman JT Woodruff, guitarist Micah Carli, bassist Matt Ridenour and drummer Eron Bucciarelli — boarded the bus to begin their Wintour 2007 outing, which kicked off Friday night in Detroit. Police are still awaiting results of an autopsy, though some reports speculate that his death might have been caused by a pre-existing condition related to acute asthma.

On the group's Web site, fellow bandmembers announced the death of their "quirky and awesome best friend," who they said had "passed away in his sleep."

"Today is probably the worst day ever," the group wrote. "It's with our deepest regrets that we have to write this. Casey Calvert passed away in his sleep last night. We found out this afternoon before soundcheck. We've spent the entire day trying to come to grips with this and figure out as much as possible. At this time we're not sure what exactly happened. Just last night he was joking around with everyone before he went to bed. We can say with absolute certainty that he was not doing anything illegal. Please, out of respect to Casey and his family, don't contribute or succumb to any gossip you may hear. We don't want his memory to be tainted in the least. Casey was our best friend. He was quirky and awesome and there will truly be no others like him! His loss is unexplainable. As soon as we know more we will let you know. Sincerely, Hawthorne Heights: Eron, JT, Micah and Matt."

Meanwhile, fans have begun filling Hawthorne's MySpace page with messages of support and sadness, celebrating Calvert's life and remembering the music he made with the band.

Update on the Life & Lies tour

Clockers!
I always enjoy sneaking into on our own show and yesterday was no exception at the Saints & Sinners Festival, thank you Jessica from RecCenter.com for uber access passes!
Getting to meet the bands is always a plus for me and I was really anticipating getting to see theses guys perform for the first time and even more anxious to find out how the tour was going and to finally get to see Riccioli.

Clockers, this is the most underated tour I have yet to be a part of. First of all the talent is over the top So They Say's new album "Life In Surveillance" this album is nothing short of a clutch track listing and is in stores now (trust me i wake up to their commercials everyday on MTV) head over to www.myspace.com/sotheysay to judge for your self! like i said WTF are these guys are totally underated, which brings me to the next band on the tour Love Hate Hero- these guys totally know how to connect with their audience, and i never got bored watching Thrasher who is destined to claim his place in guitar world history mark my words here. You have to come to the show, the Life & Lies tour is not one to miss. The line up resumes on Tuesday at Jaxx in West Virginia and make sure you get to the venue to see Before Their Eyes, Tokyo Rose, & National Product.

Clockers, we really want to hear from you be my guest, write a reveiw and we are happy to post it here, absolutepunk tour journal and at punktheclock.com.

TOKYO ROSE
Status: SideCho NEW RELEASE IN STORES TODAY JULY 31 "THE PROMISE IN COMPROMISE" (TRs finest album to date)

Tokyo Rose Cover-

New Release Tuesday-Tokyo Rose + The Startling Line

Folks what's up, Catjia here- finally two albums that are ridiculously good- we're pretty pysched about the promise in compromise esp. "Right As Rain" produced by Jesse Cannon, we have our own version coming out on Vol.3 and one of my personal favorites. For Tokyo Rose its a long time coming for these guys The Promise in Compromise is this is their finest hour yet. TR's the promise in compromise is vibrant, refreshing and while a bit more catchier it holds super weight.
I'd love to see these guys get hitched with a huge tour this year, I mean mega huge, like TOC or I don't know maybe hit the road with Saosin or even....haha you'll just have to wait and see.

The Starting Line, for me I go way back with these guys, before there was Punk The Clock there was TSL. One of my all time favorite songs from these guys "Lasting Impression"- I don't ever ever get burnt on the lyrics. These guys have had a pretty interesting trek down music industry lane. Drive-thru-geffen-virgin- this is the album we've been waititng for and I'll tell you why, not since MCR Three Cheers (and ptc vol 1) have I've been addicted to a tracklisting."Direction" is a brilliant example of Howard Benson's skilled menagerie drums, strings and vocals.(More to come soon)

Hey Riccioli, Hey Dart got anything to add?

Greetings my friends and welcome to another installment of The RiCCioLi Rundown. Just giving you guys a heads up on what has been going on as of lately. Punk The Clock Vol. 3: Property Of A Gentleman is mixed and finished! OMG we thought this day would never come. I can’t believe how great it sounds from the intro to the outro. You all are in for a huge treat so make sure you pick it up when it hits stores this September.

Lets go over a huge part of the punk rock community; The Vans Warped Tour. We all know of it and I’m sure 85% if you are going this year. Heck I know I will be at the Philly date, NJ, and NY. At this year’s Warped Tour you can catch a lot of Punk The Clock Artists tearing up the stage. Acts such as The Matches, The Almost, My American Heart, New Atlantic, Ellison, Inamere, and Anberlin. You might even see Punk The Clock promotion material at the shows including posters, stickers, and other goodies.
If you are going to the Philly show, NJ, or NY make sure to stop by the Inamere merch table and say hi to them and myself. We would love to see some of you guys.

On to other business, The Punk The Clock Street Team. We have began to put one together to promote the upcoming release and possible tours. We are looking for dedicated people to help spread the PTC word via internet promotions, at shows, or just around town. July 31st we will see the relase of The Starting Line’s new album “Direction”, as well as Tokyo Rose’s new album “The Promise In Compromise”. Introducing The RiCCioLi Run Down

The RiCCioLi Rundown

What’s going on everyone? Here at Punk The Clock we are introducing a new weekly column called “The RiCCioLi Rundown” starring me! Basically, I will be updating you all with anything Punk The Clock or Punk The Clock related. News, bands, tours, albums, videos, whatever. So enjoy!

For our first piece of news, I am honored to present The Matches brand new video for “Salty Eyes” off their 2006 album “Decomposer.” It is literally in my top 5 albums of last year and I personally have been a huge fan of theirs since E. Von Dahl Killed The Locals. Their live shows are amazing and I believe Shawn (lead singer, guitar) is one of the best frontman in the scene these days. Catch them on this years Warped Tour and on the Punk The Clock Vol. 3: Property Of A Gentleman cd!

The Matches.
www.thematches.com/Decomposer
www.myspace.com/thematches
www.purevolume.com/thematches

Secondly, I want to talk about our good friends My American Heart. This Tuesday, June 25th, their sophmore album; “Hiding Inside The Horrible Weather” was released. I strongly suggest you all go out tomorrow and purchase this album. It can also be preordered at smartpunk.com and comes with a free poster. Also, the first 50 people to pre order the disc is entered into a contest to enjoy a private BBQ Acoustic performance in San Diego. Here more of these guys at:
www.myamericanheartrock.com
www.myspace.com/myamericanheart
www.purevolume.com/myamericnheart

Finally, a special thanks goes out to all of the bands that just wrapped up their two month tour on The Punk The Clock Presents tour. The Audition, My American Heart, Monty Are I, New Atlantic, The Graduate, and 1997 made this such a great tour. Most of the shows sold out and it proved to be a huge success. We look forward to working with each and everyone of these artists sometime in the near future.

Thank you all for reading and please check back for updates weekly. As always, I would love to hear if anyone has anything to say. Don’t be shy.

The Starting Line -

Wow! We are super pysched about the Punk the Clock tracklisting-

People we know you have been hitting our website a lot lately (thank you) and asking what we do, who we are and what the hell is Punk the Clock.

Punk the Clock is a compilation of upcoming artist supported by headliners, we are getting ready to release Volume 3 "Property of a Gentleman". Each year the compilation is supported with a tour for volume 3 Punk The Clock will have 3 US tours.(Jack Mannequin West Coast Winter tour and The Audition Spring 2007 tour)
Which leaves one more in 2008. The Key here is to support the bands that are featured on the compilation. Each Punk the Clock compilation will benefit a charity Vol 3 benefits Andrew McMahon's "Dear Jack Foundation"

Dharlings, I couldnt be happier to be your worst nightmare, haha just kidding. but seriously Punk the Clock has added an exclusive track from Nightmare Of You- these guys are hot, underated and deserve some overdue spotlight.

So did anyone hear little miss rockstar herself on the radio last night? yep, yours truly hit the airwaves and won a couple of tickets to see the Rise Against, Silverstein, Comeback Kid at the Starland Ballroom in 3 weeks, (and of course I plugged my friends at absolutepunk.net)

What else... how about a little international stardom "you've got to check out these guys "Rock & Roll" it's Frances version of "The Matches"...and when you have a moment www.myspace.com/thenameofthebandisrockandroll

(somehow unauthorized duplication in french looks sexy).

Punk The Clock Tastes The Chaos

March 24th, 2007; The Punk The Clock Team consisting of Catjia, Dart, and myself with special guest Ryan from Inamere rolled into Asbury Park NJ in anticipation to rock out to the sweet tunes of the Taste Of Chaos. This year’s tour was headlined by TOC veterans The Used along with 30 Seconds To Mars, another TOC veteran band Senses Fail, Saosin, Chiodos, and Aiden. Unfortunately we got there fashionably late and missed Aiden and Chiodos. I personally was really disappointed that we missed Chiodos because I love that band and have never gotten to see them live. I guess I’ll have to wait until Bamboozle. Missing Aiden was no biggie, I’ve seen them at least 4 times and they aren’t anything special. Once we made our way through the doors and the herds of 15-year-old scenesters we made it to the stage just in time for Saosin’s set to begin. I’ve only heard a few of their songs and liked them better with their old singer before he left to make Circa Survive, but we all were very impressed. Their guitarist has great stage presence and it added to an already energetic set. The crowd ate it up and the band sound great. Next up was Senses Fail, one of my top 10 favorite bands ever. Now I’ll admit right now, this was my 10th time seeing these dudes rock out live and I wasn’t expecting much from their live show since Buddy usually sounds terrible live. Well, I wouldn’t say they sounded excellent, but it was one of their top 3 shows I’ve seen of theirs. I think a lot of it had to do with the Convention Hall’s tremendous sound system. They only played for half an hour though which kind of bummed me out. On a good note, they played mostly new songs of their “Still Searching” album and I personally love that cd! I was surprised that they didn’t play 187 or Lady In The Blue Dress. Oh well, it’s better to hear new songs I haven’t heard yet live. The band looked like rock stars up there and why the hell wouldn’t they when they have Heath of Midtown playing with them?!?!? After the Senses Fail set it was time to go backstage and get some food and snoop around a bit. Nothing too great at the moment so we went back out and got ready for 30 Seconds To Mars. I totally don’t understand this band, but I gave it a chance. Their drum kit sounded so good words can’t describe it. Jared Leto seemed to know how to work the crowd and they all loved every second of it. They played for 45 minutes and the whole time I was just looking for hot chicks and joking around with Dart and Ryan. Finally they ended their set and everyone was getting prepared for the headliners; The Used. Catjia and I decided to see how far our passes could get us so we snoop all around the Convention Hall. We ended up basically on the stage during their set and Bert was literally 10 feet away. It was pretty intense my friends. We ditched the set to snoop around even more and ended up in 30 Seconds To Mars dressing room (minus the band) and I peed in their personally bathroom. We also stumbled upon all the bands gear and saw it all getting loaded out. I’m sure I’m forgetting a lot, but hopefully my partner in crime Catjia will update you guys with some more juicy details. Back to the Used….they were pretty good live and better than two years ago when I saw them play Taste Of Chaos. I’m looking forward to their new album out in May. The tracks they played off of it seemed good enough to buy. All in all, the show was great and we were so happy to be there! Any other Punk The Clockers wanna elaborate?

We all would love to give a huge thanks to Alternative Press for hooking us up with guest list and backstage passes. PTC <3 AP!!!!

RiCCioLi's Review of The Winter West Coast Tour 2/28

Punk The Clock Presents The Winter West Coast Tour featuring Jack’s Mannequin, Head Automatica, The Audition, and We Are The Fury.
Let me set up the picture for you; at least 4000 scenesters packed into a sold out Hammerstein Ballroom, lasers blaring, voices roaring in excitement, and energy that I have never felt before. All of this was going on before any band even hit the stage.

The Punk The Clock Team got there fashionably late and missed We Are The Fury, but we made damn sure we got there in time for The Audition. They looked and sounded great blasting out tunes from their Victory debut album “Controversy Loves Company” and even through in some new songs. It was so great to see this band play to such a huge crowd. The kids were eating it up singing along and giving it their all. We at Punk The Clock love seeing this band grow since we have a good relationship with the guys. Next to hit the stage was Head Automatica. Opening with “At The Speed Of A Yellow Bullet” from their first album “Decadence” you could tell that lead singer Darryl Palumbo was going to be on point tonight. They played around 10 songs from their two albums including; “Graduation,” Beating Heart Baby,” and “Laughing At You.” All in all they were excellent as usual, but I personally thought they could have played more off their first album. The two albums are so different from each other and I like their sound from the early days much better.
Ok, now onto the headliner and our good friends; Jack’s Mannequin. We all were so psyched to finally see Andrew and crew perform. After months of hearing such good things about their live shows it was time to experience it ourselves. The set started off with a recording of “Holiday In The Sun” blasting over the P.A. system (although you couldn’t really hear it over the 4000 kids singing along). All of the sudden the P.A. stopped playing and the band came out to a roar of the crowd and continued to play “Holiday In The Sun.” I was blown away by how good they sounded and a vibe that I cant describe. The set consisted of Jack Mannequin songs including; “The Mixed Tape,” “Imp Ready’” “Miss Delancey,” an astounding new version of “La La Li,” “Dark Blue,” and a couple others. Andrew gave much acknowledgment to his Something Corporate days and thanks all of his fans for sticking with him. He gave them all a special treat and played two SoCo songs; “Punk Rock Princess” and another one that I cant remember at this time.
Covers of The Police’s “Sending Out An S.O.S” and U2’s “With Or Without You” were thrown into the mix, which made for a fantastic surprise. I’ve never heard such a great Police cover and it was my personal favorite of the night. All through out the set Andrew told stories about his songs, life, and battle with cancer. He mentioned that whenever he enters New York he gets really scared and emotional since that is where he first found out he had cancer. You could feel his emotion and it meant a lot to see him pour his heart out to his adoring fans. That man has so much heart and soul and he makes us so proud to sponsor his Foundation, “The Dear Jack Fund.” He closed the show in a less than normal way by explaining how he made a bet that he couldn’t crowd surf from the stage all the way to the back by the sound board and then back to the stage. So during the last performance of the night; “MFEO” he went for it and basically made it. It was pure chaos in the audience.
All in all it had to be in my top 5 best performances I’ve ever seen. I was expecting a lot out of this show, but even my high expectations were blown away. I cant wait to see Jack’s Mannequin again. We are all so happy to work with such great bands such as them, The Audition, and all the others. They are the reason why we do this.

Anyone else check out any of the shows? What did you think?

“music is life”

Thursday, March 01, 2007

And for those of you who want a little SOCO

The show last night was nothing short of brilliant the crew from PTC is on an all time high, and I like most of the people who have gone to the show definately Winter West Coast tour as the top 5 show all time- I think the last time I was on this high was when I was producing David Bowie (hmmm bet you didnt know that did you)-

Andrew was nothing short of a rockstar (minus the drama) and we predict that by his next album he is going arena- any takers? His energy was on fire, he could feel the love and was so genuine appreciative of the crowd respecting that we were all there for Jacks Mannequin and not a Something Corporate cover band- HA and that my dears is the ticket- RESPECT. It was refreshing not one kid was screaming out what songs for the band to perform. In his own words he announced "This was the biggest show I have ever done"- and we were pumped that we were there to mark this day in Jacks Mannequin history-

Trust me we are huge Something Corporate fans, but how do you think that makes the rest of the JM band feel- these guys are so underated- Dr. Jay where did you get that medical degree from?

Dartagnan-Highlights include Danny from the Audition taking stage performing a cover of the Police "SOS"
-Head Automatica had a great response from the show
Catjia-Watching the crowd every single person truly and in every sense of "real" float on the show, the sea of cell phones taking the place of the lighter, the baggies littering the floor, and every note from the bands-

I feel like I took the breath of a four leaf clover-

Fall Out Boy- review 02-12-07

Just incase your wondering what the clockers are thinking. The writing has matured is the first thought that comes to mind, moreso than that is Patrick's vocals have never been been finer. I get the sense of your lead has taken ownership of that next level of harmony and speeding off sreaming chords-
The lyrics as always mixed onto the canvas right before your ears makes every track heeding the talent of musicianship and not just a fad. There is no argument here: some albums are worth buying-

A lot of farvel this week-

One of my favorite people in the world has clocked out today. Patrick Jolkovski will meet up with GYM CLASS HEROES on February 15, he joins his former band mate Whit formerly of For Felix to tour the rest of world. Patty- Dartagnan and I wish you extreme happyness and success.
You are and always will be thought of as one of the best. Without you we just wouldn't be half of who we are today.
I will miss all the late nights, every night was late haha sometimes not even sleeping at all just listening to music, talking about every artist under the sun, priming volume 3, and you literally saving the day at any given notice-
I love that you are finally heading out on tour again on the road where it all began-everything forward is backwards.

2007 with a bang

On December 26th, 2006 our hosting company lost its servers, causing all of our information from the past two years to be deleted. We lost every email, every document, and every file that punk the clock had been working on.

We are scrambling to get all the information back, so in the time being, we are putting up this page. We sincerely apologize for any problems this has caused you, we know how you feel because we are feeling the same way.

Please feel free to email us, or contact us through myspace. We are working to get this all sorted out.

P.S. - Vol 3 is still coming out in March, and it is still going to be amazing! Just trust us on that one.
