Punk The Clock Tastes The Chaos

March 24th, 2007; The Punk The Clock Team consisting of Catjia, Dart, and myself with special guest Ryan from Inamere rolled into Asbury Park NJ in anticipation to rock out to the sweet tunes of the Taste Of Chaos. This year’s tour was headlined by TOC veterans The Used along with 30 Seconds To Mars, another TOC veteran band Senses Fail, Saosin, Chiodos, and Aiden. Unfortunately we got there fashionably late and missed Aiden and Chiodos. I personally was really disappointed that we missed Chiodos because I love that band and have never gotten to see them live. I guess I’ll have to wait until Bamboozle. Missing Aiden was no biggie, I’ve seen them at least 4 times and they aren’t anything special. Once we made our way through the doors and the herds of 15-year-old scenesters we made it to the stage just in time for Saosin’s set to begin. I’ve only heard a few of their songs and liked them better with their old singer before he left to make Circa Survive, but we all were very impressed. Their guitarist has great stage presence and it added to an already energetic set. The crowd ate it up and the band sound great. Next up was Senses Fail, one of my top 10 favorite bands ever. Now I’ll admit right now, this was my 10th time seeing these dudes rock out live and I wasn’t expecting much from their live show since Buddy usually sounds terrible live. Well, I wouldn’t say they sounded excellent, but it was one of their top 3 shows I’ve seen of theirs. I think a lot of it had to do with the Convention Hall’s tremendous sound system. They only played for half an hour though which kind of bummed me out. On a good note, they played mostly new songs of their “Still Searching” album and I personally love that cd! I was surprised that they didn’t play 187 or Lady In The Blue Dress. Oh well, it’s better to hear new songs I haven’t heard yet live. The band looked like rock stars up there and why the hell wouldn’t they when they have Heath of Midtown playing with them?!?!? After the Senses Fail set it was time to go backstage and get some food and snoop around a bit. Nothing too great at the moment so we went back out and got ready for 30 Seconds To Mars. I totally don’t understand this band, but I gave it a chance. Their drum kit sounded so good words can’t describe it. Jared Leto seemed to know how to work the crowd and they all loved every second of it. They played for 45 minutes and the whole time I was just looking for hot chicks and joking around with Dart and Ryan. Finally they ended their set and everyone was getting prepared for the headliners; The Used. Catjia and I decided to see how far our passes could get us so we snoop all around the Convention Hall. We ended up basically on the stage during their set and Bert was literally 10 feet away. It was pretty intense my friends. We ditched the set to snoop around even more and ended up in 30 Seconds To Mars dressing room (minus the band) and I peed in their personally bathroom. We also stumbled upon all the bands gear and saw it all getting loaded out. I’m sure I’m forgetting a lot, but hopefully my partner in crime Catjia will update you guys with some more juicy details. Back to the Used….they were pretty good live and better than two years ago when I saw them play Taste Of Chaos. I’m looking forward to their new album out in May. The tracks they played off of it seemed good enough to buy. All in all, the show was great and we were so happy to be there! Any other Punk The Clockers wanna elaborate?

We all would love to give a huge thanks to Alternative Press for hooking us up with guest list and backstage passes. PTC <3 AP!!!!

RiCCioLi's Review of The Winter West Coast Tour 2/28

Punk The Clock Presents The Winter West Coast Tour featuring Jack’s Mannequin, Head Automatica, The Audition, and We Are The Fury.
Let me set up the picture for you; at least 4000 scenesters packed into a sold out Hammerstein Ballroom, lasers blaring, voices roaring in excitement, and energy that I have never felt before. All of this was going on before any band even hit the stage.

The Punk The Clock Team got there fashionably late and missed We Are The Fury, but we made damn sure we got there in time for The Audition. They looked and sounded great blasting out tunes from their Victory debut album “Controversy Loves Company” and even through in some new songs. It was so great to see this band play to such a huge crowd. The kids were eating it up singing along and giving it their all. We at Punk The Clock love seeing this band grow since we have a good relationship with the guys. Next to hit the stage was Head Automatica. Opening with “At The Speed Of A Yellow Bullet” from their first album “Decadence” you could tell that lead singer Darryl Palumbo was going to be on point tonight. They played around 10 songs from their two albums including; “Graduation,” Beating Heart Baby,” and “Laughing At You.” All in all they were excellent as usual, but I personally thought they could have played more off their first album. The two albums are so different from each other and I like their sound from the early days much better.
Ok, now onto the headliner and our good friends; Jack’s Mannequin. We all were so psyched to finally see Andrew and crew perform. After months of hearing such good things about their live shows it was time to experience it ourselves. The set started off with a recording of “Holiday In The Sun” blasting over the P.A. system (although you couldn’t really hear it over the 4000 kids singing along). All of the sudden the P.A. stopped playing and the band came out to a roar of the crowd and continued to play “Holiday In The Sun.” I was blown away by how good they sounded and a vibe that I cant describe. The set consisted of Jack Mannequin songs including; “The Mixed Tape,” “Imp Ready’” “Miss Delancey,” an astounding new version of “La La Li,” “Dark Blue,” and a couple others. Andrew gave much acknowledgment to his Something Corporate days and thanks all of his fans for sticking with him. He gave them all a special treat and played two SoCo songs; “Punk Rock Princess” and another one that I cant remember at this time.
Covers of The Police’s “Sending Out An S.O.S” and U2’s “With Or Without You” were thrown into the mix, which made for a fantastic surprise. I’ve never heard such a great Police cover and it was my personal favorite of the night. All through out the set Andrew told stories about his songs, life, and battle with cancer. He mentioned that whenever he enters New York he gets really scared and emotional since that is where he first found out he had cancer. You could feel his emotion and it meant a lot to see him pour his heart out to his adoring fans. That man has so much heart and soul and he makes us so proud to sponsor his Foundation, “The Dear Jack Fund.” He closed the show in a less than normal way by explaining how he made a bet that he couldn’t crowd surf from the stage all the way to the back by the sound board and then back to the stage. So during the last performance of the night; “MFEO” he went for it and basically made it. It was pure chaos in the audience.
All in all it had to be in my top 5 best performances I’ve ever seen. I was expecting a lot out of this show, but even my high expectations were blown away. I cant wait to see Jack’s Mannequin again. We are all so happy to work with such great bands such as them, The Audition, and all the others. They are the reason why we do this.

Anyone else check out any of the shows? What did you think?

And for those of you who want a little SOCO

The show last night was nothing short of brilliant the crew from PTC is on an all time high, and I like most of the people who have gone to the show definately Winter West Coast tour as the top 5 show all time- I think the last time I was on this high was when I was producing David Bowie (hmmm bet you didnt know that did you)-

Andrew was nothing short of a rockstar (minus the drama) and we predict that by his next album he is going arena- any takers? His energy was on fire, he could feel the love and was so genuine appreciative of the crowd respecting that we were all there for Jacks Mannequin and not a Something Corporate cover band- HA and that my dears is the ticket- RESPECT. It was refreshing not one kid was screaming out what songs for the band to perform. In his own words he announced "This was the biggest show I have ever done"- and we were pumped that we were there to mark this day in Jacks Mannequin history-

Trust me we are huge Something Corporate fans, but how do you think that makes the rest of the JM band feel- these guys are so underated- Dr. Jay where did you get that medical degree from?

Dartagnan-Highlights include Danny from the Audition taking stage performing a cover of the Police "SOS"
-Head Automatica had a great response from the show
Catjia-Watching the crowd every single person truly and in every sense of "real" float on the show, the sea of cell phones taking the place of the lighter, the baggies littering the floor, and every note from the bands-

I feel like I took the breath of a four leaf clover-

Fall Out Boy- review 02-12-07

Just incase your wondering what the clockers are thinking. The writing has matured is the first thought that comes to mind, moreso than that is Patrick's vocals have never been been finer. I get the sense of your lead has taken ownership of that next level of harmony and speeding off sreaming chords-
The lyrics as always mixed onto the canvas right before your ears makes every track heeding the talent of musicianship and not just a fad. There is no argument here: some albums are worth buying-

Clockers?

A lot of farvel this week-

One of my favorite people in the world has clocked out today. Patrick Jolkovski will meet up with GYM CLASS HEROES on February 15, he joins his former band mate Whit formerly of For Felix to tour the rest of world. Patty- Dartagnan and I wish you extreme happyness and success.
You are and always will be thought of as one of the best. Without you we just wouldn't be half of who we are today.
I will miss all the late nights, every night was late haha sometimes not even sleeping at all just listening to music, talking about every artist under the sun, priming volume 3, and you literally saving the day at any given notice-
I love that you are finally heading out on tour again on the road where it all began-everything forward is backwards.

2007 with a bang

On December 26th, 2006 our hosting company lost its servers, causing all of our information from the past two years to be deleted. We lost every email, every document, and every file that punk the clock had been working on.

We are scrambling to get all the information back, so in the time being, we are putting up this page. We sincerely apologize for any problems this has caused you, we know how you feel because we are feeling the same way.

Please feel free to email us, or contact us through myspace. We are working to get this all sorted out.

I want my MTV-INAMERE Monmouth TV that is...

Inamere begins promoting the upcoming Punk The Clock "Property of a Gentleman" tour today at a local TV station in Monmouth County- details to follow on the actual air date...but for us it might go alittle bit like this
Breaking News:
Inamere of Morristown, NJ preparing for the upcoming PUNK THE CLOCK "PROPERTY OF A GENTLEMAN" US TOUR with Secret Lives of the Free Masons, ADAIR, & Karate High School.
Exclusive track from "Inamere" featured on Punk The Clock Volume III "Property of a Gentleman" compilation, a percentage of sales will benefit the "Dear Jack" Foundation. Punk The Clock is supporting Andrew McMahon of Jack's Mannequin/Something Corporate "Dear Jack" fund is a non-profit charitable organization to funding cancer research. Andrew's focused attention on causes that relate to young adult and teenage cancer patients, who often face difficulties in choosing between pediatric and adult treatment protocols. It is his hope to use the Dear Jack fund to provide outreach and assistance to families coping with cancer.
and that was taken straight from this Q card, http://www.dearjackfoundation.com.

It is Punk The Clock's goal to raise 5k-10k USD- friends, let's make a difference here. A huge contribution towards community- That kid could be your best friend, a sister, a brother, a daughter, a son- If your thinking you dont matter, your just a small meek individual now, what thoughts will you have when it's too late. My friends think "compound interest"- this is your generation and there isnt a better time to customize your philosophy! And that my dear is PUNK THE CLOCK!

(and that was the lost q card)
